Copywriting Services

So, you've decided you need a freelance copywriter (great decision!)

But how does it work?

Well, if you'd like to work with me, here's a little more about the process.

1

Set up a call

We set up a call for you to tell me all about your project - the more details you can give me, the better the outcome will be. It's also a good chance for us to get to know each other and make sure we're happy to work together.

2

Agree a price

We agree terms and a price. This will vary depending on the project - I have a day rate for copy projects but this may change depending on the complexity of the project or the length of time you need my help for.

Let's get started

Once I've got everything I need I can get started on your project.

I'm happy to work within whichever process or CMS you've got (I've used them all!) And, of course, I will work with other agencies, freelancers or within your team, depending on the project.

  • What does a copywriter do?
A copywriter is a writer who helps brands or businesses make themselves understood. Good copywriters are creative, and have spent years honing their craft. They understand how to research, write persuasively and edit. They can adapt their writing style to different tones of voice and make even the most complex subjects easy and pleasant to read about.
  • Why do I need a copywriter?
Hiring a professional copywriter for your business can be a gamechanger. Sure, you could do all of your writing yourself - but would it be any good? I've often been called in to edit copy that teams have worked on, only to find it difficult to read, filled with endless jargon and waffle, and with no real point or purpose. Hiring a copywriter massively increases the chances of getting it right first time. If you're writing for your website, a copywriter like me can optimise for search engines, based on what we know your audience is looking for. That means you get better traffic and more conversions - sound like a win-win.
  • How much does a copywriter cost?
That will depend on the project and its complexity. My day rate is £450. It's not the cheapest, neither is it the most expensive. When you hire me you're paying for a top-quality copywriter and marketer with heaps of experience. You're paying for my instinct. I know when the words are right, and when they're not. If you've got a longer-term project, or you'd like me to deliver a certain number of blogs per week, for example - I'd likely quote you on a project basis.
  • Do you require a deposit?
If it's the first time we've worked together, I'll ask for 50% upfront before I start the job. If we've worked together before (and I know you pay on time!) I'm happy to offer payment terms.
  • What copywriting services do you offer?
As an experienced freelance copywriter I offer the following (and more): - Blog and article writing - Copy editing - Ghostwriting - E-Book copywriting - Sales materials copywriting - Brochure copywriting - Website landing pages - Website SEO copywriting - Press release writing - Case study interview and writing - Social media copywriting - Thought leadership copywriting Got something else you'd like me to work on? Let's chat!
  • Do you use AI to write?
No. My words are mine - I love writing them, that's why I do this job. I use AI to help me in lots of aspects of my life and work - sometimes it's helpful for organising my thoughts or getting a boring task done more quickly, but I don't think it's good at writing. You can just tell when words have come from a human, and I think they're better that way.
  • Can you provide a free work sample?
No. I don't work for free and I wouldn't be a successful freelancer if I did this for every client that asked. In the same way as you'd never ask a tradesperson working on your house to show what they can do for free, don't ask your copywriter. You can, of course, check out my published work to get a flavour of how I write.
